Frangipani Fables & Black Rice Tales With Boxwalla And Siam Seas

The latest Boxwalla beauty box Frangipani Fables & Black Rice Tales introduces us to two new creations from Siam Seas: Kwam Rak Body Serum and Sai Clear Skin Serum

Siam Seas is a clean skincare line that draws inspiration from founder Supadra’s childhood in Northeast Thailand. Supadra takes an East-meets-West approach and marries traditional South East Asian botanicals with modern research-proven actives to create the most beautifully nuanced products.

Every product is lovingly made by hand in small batches, from harvesting the herbs to blending the formulas to packaging the product, so it lands in your hands just days after creation. Talk about a true farm-to-face experience!

Kwam Rak means love in Thai, and this body serum is a treat for your body and mind. The ingredient list is a blend of botanical extracts, sodium PCA & three kinds of ceramides to heal and hydrate the skin, leaving it more even-toned and radiant.

With a light, creamy texture that is quickly absorbed into the skin, it provides immediate relief for my dry skin without the greasy residue of a body oil. The key, according to Supadra, is to continue massaging your skin after the lotion is absorbed so that you stimulate the blood flow and enhance the results. (Boxwalla has uploaded a tutorial on how to apply it!)

But the highlight for me is its sexy, ambrosial scent- you will notice the spiciness of unrefined mustard seed oil before the floral notes of frangipani and jasmine sambac comes through. Just heaven.

Sai is made up of a base of black rice water, with a synergistic blend of ancient botanicals like king of bitters, milk thistle, mangosteen, gypsum, ashwagandha and neem with modern actives & extracts like vitamin c ester, ceramides & MSM. (You will encounter some initial graininess from the gypsum but it will quickly dissipate once you apply it on your face.)

It is one of those products you don't realize you need until you've experienced it, and I have found it to be one of the most fast-acting formulas I have ever tried. I warm up a couple of pumps in the palm of my hand and apply it onto damp skin- it will soon tighten and leave a light protective barrier on your skin while working its magic to brighten and even, reduce scarring and calm inflammation. I’ve been layering Mun Skincare Aknari Serum (from a previous Boxwalla box) over this for a simple and effective nighttime routine.

A Boxwalla subscription costs $49.95 every two months, and a combined value of $165 for this box would have saved you almost 70% off retail prices! A bi-monthly plan allows you to fully experience and appreciate the products that you receive in each box, with the option to switch to their film or book box.

Subscription for this box has closed but you can purchase it as a one-time box for $74.95 here!
