Boxwalla Beauty: Sail The Siam Seas

Boxwalla took us on a journey all across the globe with their last two Wandering Woman boxes, and this time they've sent us on a voyage to discover Ancient Secrets Of The East in Thailand, one of my favorite countries in the world. Say sawatdii to Siam Seas, a new luxury brand taking the green beauty world by storm, bridging the gap between East and West by incorporating Southeast Asian ingredients and philosophies into their products.
Founder Supadra Geronimo grew up in Thailand, learning from her mother and grandmother how to concoct beauty potions from the natural ingredients in their backyard. After she moved to the United States her hectic lifestyle took its toll on her skin and left her feeling deeply insecure and vulnerable, but none of the prescribed or store-bought solutions worked for her.
It turned out to be a blessing in disguise, because it reignited her passion for skincare formulation and she began creating her own products using unique, potent herbs and botanicals sent to her from her family in Thailand. The immediate changes she saw to her skin condition inspired her to start Siam Seas so she could share her wonderfully nuanced yet richly complex creations with others.

Everything is hand-blended in small batches in her studio to ensure that you get the freshest batch, and the ingredients are harvested from their pesticide-free farm in Thailand, wildcrafted or locally sourced, free of all the nasties like parabens, sulfates and PEGs that one would usually find in mainstream beauty products.

In this stellar selection, Boxwalla has included two of Supadra's bestselling products as well as a yet-to-be released product, and I am excited to share my thoughts with you!

Twilight BeCalm Skin Serum ($80.00 for 1 oz)
The Twilight BeCalm Skin Serum is the ultimate skin healer, credited with helping Supadra calm her cystic acne and repair and regenerate skin cells overnight. It contains 24 powerful active ingredients hand-blended into a potent, bioactive liquid gold, with time-honored botanicals by Thai people to fight inflammation, remove toxins, promote blood circulations, fight infections and heal cuts and wounds. The essential oils perform double duty to brighten your skin and soothe your mind, while Vitamin A ester and CoQ10 boosts collagen production to help you maintain a youthful complexion.
I truly appreciate having this during my hormonal acne flare-ups because it does a wonderful job of calming my skin and speeding up the healing process. I shake the bottle vigorously to aid micro-emulsion of the botanicals and massage 4-5 drops of the product onto my skin, although you may want to adjust the dosage if the oil is too heavy for you.
Ingredients: Nigella Sativa (Black Cumin Seed) oil*, Pulverized Aloe Vera Gel*, Andrographis Paniculata Herb**, Caesalpinia Sappan L Herb**, Clinacanthus Nutans Herb**, Curcuma Aromatic Herb**, Attalea Speciosa (Babassu)Oil**, Pentaclethra Macroloba (Pracaxi) Seed Oil**, Calophyllum Inophyllum (Tamanu) Oil*, Aleurites Moluccanus (Kukui Nut) Oil*, Hippophae Rhamnoides (Sea Buckthorn Pulp) CO2 Extract*, Ubiquinone (Coenzyme Q10), Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Seed Oil*, Garcinia Indica (Kokum) Butter**, Non-GMO Retinol Palmitate (Vitamin A Ester), Hydnocarpus Wightianus (Chaulmoogra) Oil, Helichrysum Italicum (Immortelle) Oil*, Cananga odorata (Ylang Ylang) Extra Oil*, Lavandula (Lavender) Oil**, Daucus Carota (Carrot Seed) Oil*, Rosa Damascena (Bulgarian Rose) Oil*, Citrus Aurantium (Neroli) Oil*, Citrus Sinensis (Sweet Orange) Oil*, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Oil*, Citrus Limonum (Lemon) Oil*, Rosa Damascena (Rose Damask Absolute) Oil**, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate Ascorbic Acid, Citric Acid, Potassium Sorbate, Xanthan Gum

Elements Balm ($47.50 for 0.5 oz)
The  Elements Balm is Supadra's holy grail product, formulated to address the uneven dark acne scars that would have previously taken months to fade, and it helps brighten and even skin tone while delivering nutrients and hydration to the skin. One of the star ingredients is Lakoocha extract, an antioxidant rich in Vitamin C and Oxyresveratrol that helps correct your skin tone and restore a bright, youthful complexion. The other botanicals work hard to neutralize toxins, protect your skin against free radical damage and inhibits melanin production.
The forest green balm also provides comforting aromatherapy with a grounding herbal scent that gradually dissipates to leave behind the sweet aroma of jasmine.  This formula is definitely unlike anything I have ever tried, and I actually prefer to use this sparingly on my face over my troubled spots. Although this can also be used with the Twilight BeCalm Skin Serum, I do find that combination a little rich for my face, so I prefer to alternate them.
Ingredients: Garcinia Indica (Kokum) Butter**, Madhuca Longifolia (Mowrah) Butter**, Cannabis Sativa (Hemp Seed) Oil*, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Oil*, Tiliacora Triandra (Ya Nang) Herb**, Thumbergia Laurifolia (Laurel Clock Vine) Herb**, Centella Asiatica (Gotu Kola)**, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Oil*, Pentaclethra Macroloba (Pracaxi) Seed Oil**, Cucurbita Pepo (Pumpkin Seed) Oil*, Hydnocarpus Wightianus (Chaulmoogra) Oil, Calophyllum Inophyllum (Tamanu) Oil*, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbyl (Vitamin C Ester), Artocarpus lacucha (Lakoocha) Extract**, Rosa Canina (Rose hip) Oil* Jasminum officinale (Jasmine Absolute) Oil*, Rosa Damascena (Bulgarian Rose) Oil**, Helichrysum Italicum (Immortelle) Oil*, Boswellia sacra (Frankincense) Oil**, Lavandula (Lavender) Oil**, Ravensara aromatica*, Commiphora myrrha (Myrrh) Oil*, Zingiber cassumunar (Plai) Herb**, Citrus Aurantium (Neroli) Oil*, Tanacetum annuum (Blue Tansy)**, Rosa Damascena (Rose Bulgarian Absolute) Oil**
* Certified Organic ingredients ** Organically Grown / Wildcrafted ingredients

Mekha Cleansing Balm (yet-to-be released)
I will be doing a more in-depth review of this product when it is ready to launch, but the Mekha Cleansing Balm completely blew me away with its texture and efficacy. Described by Boxwalla as the softest cloud of lemon and ginger that both calms and refreshes, it sits on a base of raw honey infused with royal jelly, propolis and pollen to provide enzymatic cleansing, with active herbs like Thanaka, Turmeric and Ginger that tightens the pores while stimulating blood circulation and oxygenating your skin.

I massage a small dime-sized amount onto my damp face, using circulation motions to allow the herbal grains to gently exfoliate my skin before wiping off the balm with a warm cloth. Twice a week I switch it up and use this as a mask (you can combine it with the Purifying Herbal Mask) and leave it onto my skin for 30-45 minutes and it gives my face an even, radiant glow. When followed with the Siam Seas Twilight BeCalm Skin Serum, it helps my skin look its best the morning after.

If you are disappointed that you missed this stellar box, don't worry- you can purchase the items directly from the Siam Seas website!

Make sure to subscribe to December's box "Let It Glow!" featuring Lina Hanson, RMS Beauty and an indie favorite of mine here- hurry before it sells out like this one!
