Bloom Into Your Full Potential With Flowerevolution

A Flowerevolution is happening, and I am so excited to be a small part of this movement!
Studies have shown that flowers and plants are highly intelligent and we are much more connected to them than we are aware of. They have the capacity to make us feel happier, more fulfilled, less stressed and more in tune with nature. People are beginning to awaken the magic of flowers in their everyday lives, and the more we tap into it, the more it can help us reach our fullest potential.
“After spending time around trees and flowers, we actually feel different; we can feel all kinds of positive qualities rising up within us. Those qualities are already within us, but it’s being in nature that wakes up those feelings inside us and remind us—with a visceral experience—of who we are.” - Katie Heiss

Katie Hess, author and flower alchemist behind Lotus Wei, has written a gorgeous, transformative book Flowerevolution that translates the wisdom and magic of flowers. Each flower has its own special message and teaching and in the book you’ll discover:
  • What your favorite flowers reveal about you
  • How the language of flowers can help you better understand yourself + your loved ones
  • Ancient and modern methods for tapping into each flower’s unique quality

In collaboration with award-winning filmmaker Louie Schwartzberg, the stunning photos and interactive exercises in Flowerevolution allows us to explore the vast and beautiful world of flowers, where nature is not just a pretty picture or sublime scent, but a pathway to a fuller experience of life.
I was invited by the lovely folks at Lotus Wei to be part of a special project to introduce Flowerevolution through my personal experience with one of the flower elixirs featured in the book. I had to trust my intuition and pick a flower I was visually attracted to- I found myself immediately drawn to the Giant Spider Lily without knowing anything about it, and the 'reading' surprised me.
The exotic Giant Spider Lily is native to Southeast Asia and has a powdery sweet floral aroma that rivals the most fragrant flowers in a tropical garden. As a poisonous flower, the Spider Lily cannot be used for cooking or making an essential oil, but as an essence, the greatest attribute of this elixir is ‘light’. If you’re drawn to the Giant Spider Lily, you may be craving a sense of freedom, weightlessness and effortlessness. Giant Spider Lily flower elixir shines light into our blind spots, illuminating areas of our life that are stagnant or in need of fresh energy. When we experience heaviness or feel burdened, it also helps us feel ‘light’ as a feather, weightless, unfettered and free.
"Flowers reconnect us to our own beautiful and unique essence as human beings. They wake up our positive qualities so that we feel them and they begin to emanate from us, just as each flower radiates its own unique quality.” - Katie Heiss

Flower essences are essentially the vibrational message of a flower transmitted to water by solarization and it bears no side effects. This was important for me to know, since the Spider Lily is a poisonous flower and I wasn't injesting the actual flower. There are a few ways to take flower elixirs, but my preference is to take five drops straight into my mouth under my tongue since it is sweetened with ethically-sourced honey.
To be honest I began taking the Giant Spider Lily elixir with a healthy dose of skepticism, but I was amazed when I started feeling a palpable shift in my mood and energy after my first few doses. I had been really overwhelmed by my editorial schedule that had suffered because of my home renovations, and I felt like I lacked both the motivation and inspiration to get back on track. As I progressed, it was like the mental fog was slowly lifted off me and I experienced a surge of creativity from within me, and found myself taking on my to-do list with a sense of ease and newfound gusto!
Here are some tips for taking flower elixirs:
  • When consumed consistently the effects can be felt in a matter of days, although sometimes it may be more apparently to others than yourself as it takes a while for you to be aware of the shift in your mindset, and the results are different for every person.
  • It is better to take one elixir each time if you want to track a specific outcome, although a combination can work synergistically and yield more immediate and noticeable results.
  • Flower essences are usually taken for 3-4 weeks, although some people may need to take it over a much longer period of time to overcome deep set trauma or behavioural patterns.

I would definitely love to take part in the full Flowerevolution program some day and incorporate some more elixirs in my life. That said, I am going to be at the Book Launch Party + Flower Lounge on November 15 and hope to see some of you there- I'll be sipping on those flower-powered drinks and standing in line to get my autographed copy of Flowerevolution!

  1. I was first introduced to lotus Wei through the aromatherapy mists, I was also not 100% sold on the idea of an elixir for a long time but when curiousity eventually won over, it really helped me through some tough times.

    1. Yes! I have tried all the products and I agree that elixirs are the most effective for me, but the roll-ons are divine too :) Do you have a favorite flower?
