Whatever Your Issue, Tazeka Aromatherapy Has You Covered

Is your mind all over the place? Feeling lethargic and unmotivated? Time of the month bringing you down? Don't worry, because whatever your issue, Tazeka Aromatherapy has you covered.

The name is a portmanteau of the founder Zena Hallam and her mother's names, and Tazeka is her way of sharing their story and the gift and knowledge of healing that was passed down to her. The logo is a combination of a lotus flower symbolizing purity of mind, body and spirit and a droplet that represents the use of essential oils. A certified aromatherapist, reflexologist and modern day alchemist,  Zena wants people to reconnect to themselves and sees her craft as "an art and science of the controlled use of essential oils distilled from plants to treat and benefit the whole person – mind, body and soul."

The provenance and purity of the ingredients are of utmost importance to her- the essential oils are all organic, ethically farmed, unsprayed or wild-crafted, with the promise of no synthetic fragrances, parabens, preservatives and animal testing in her products. They work directly with distillers who uphold the same values and source them from places as varied as India, Spain, Croatia, France, Madagascar and beyond.

With a cornucupia of blends with catchy names like "Headache Helper", "Peaceful Slumber" and "Tension Tonic", they come in chic roll-on bottles light enough to throw into your purse, slip into your pocket or place by your bedside table. Every blend comes with its own set of instructions (you will use Slim Solution a little different from Meditation Guru, for example) but all of them are safe to apply directly onto your skin as often as you like.

The folks at Tazeka sent me a few blends to try, and I am excited to be sharing my thoughts with you!

Meditation Guru ($39.50 for 8 ml)

Meditation Guru is describes as a sweet, resinous, woody blend designed to integrate your spirit and mind. It contains frankincense and myrrh which dates back to Biblical times as perfume oils and precious commodities, as well as sandalwood which is widely known for its calming and grounding effects.

I was surprised by how subtle this particular blend was, but I learnt that essential oils don't have to be strong to be effective as they are also absorbed into your blood stream for you to gain therapeutic benefits from. I have been applying this to my pulse points and Third Eye before my yoga classes, and I find that I am more centered and mindful of my practice, and the fact that the smell dissipates so quickly works in not overpowering or distracting me.

Ingredients: Aromatherapy Essential Oils Of Frankincense Sacra, Myrrh, Hawaiian Sandalwood , Ylang Ylang, Elemi, and Tocopherol in Pure Jojoba, Limonene*, Linalool*, Geraniol*, Benzyl Benzoate*, Farnesol* and Benzyl Salicylate*
* Naturally occurring within essential oils

Motivation ($39.50 for 8 ml)
Motivation is an invigorating, herbaceous blend formulated to jump start your engines and keep your spirits up. Thyme, black spruce and lime overcome stalled energy by boosting your mood and mental performance, and ginger and coriander work to conquer your deep-seated fears by reducing tension and keeping nausea at bay.
I reach for this whenever I feel anxious and overwhelmed by the enormity of my to-do list, and it gives me the push I need to get into action, which is a much better alternative to having too many cups of coffee. This is also great for motion sickness (Zoe Organic's Refresh Oil also comes to mind) and will be coming along with me on all my future travels!
Ingredients: Aromatherapy Essential Oils Of Thyme, Ginger, Black Spruce, Lime, Coriander, Balsam Fir, and Tocopherol in Pure Jojoba, Limonene*, Linalool*, Geraniol*, Benzyl Benzoate*, Farnesol* and Benzyl Salicylate*
* Naturally occurring within essential oils

PMS Rescue ($39.50 for 8 ml)
PMS Rescue is a floral, slightly spicy scent that is comforting and encouraging, with the ability to nourish your Yin energy which demands extra attention during your monthly cycle. Cypress helps to improve circulation and cramps and has been a menstrual therapy for centuries, while geranium balances hormone levels and alleviates period pain.

I have been battling severe PMS since I turned 30 and am always on the lookout for a holistic alternative to painkillers and Imodium. I tested this during my most recent cycle and while it did not help with my heavy bleeding and physical cramps, I did enjoy using this to calm my emotions and take my mind to a higher place. It also stays the longest on me out of all the blends, and I love wearing this as my daily perfume, because it just smells so good.

Ingredients: Aromatherapy Essential Oils Of Geranium, Cyprus, Lavender, Roman Chamomile, and Tocopherol in Pure Jojoba, Limonene*, Linalool*, Geraniol*, Benzyl Benzoate*, Farnesol* and Benzyl Salicylate*
* Naturally occurring within essential oils

I  must say Tazeka really impressed me with the quality and effectiveness of their products, and there are so many other blends that I would love to try. If you are undecided about which one to pick, you can shop by solution or from their list of most popular blends, but I reckon it's hard to go wrong with any one of them!
Good news- I am hosting a giveaway on Instagram so hop on to find out how you can win two blends of your choice!
