How Innersense Organic Beauty Is Changing The Way I View Haircare

Innersense Organic Beauty begins with a simple exhortation: to embrace life's challenges as teachable moments and tune in to your inner sense to develop a mindful and purposeful existence.
They are, in their own words, "a company dedicated to purity, peace of mind, and the practice of self-care", and aim to inspire beauty and well-being by providing salon-worthy haircare products that connects you to the healing power of nature. Your hair, they explain, is a living, breathing extension of your body and craves love and nourishment, and practicing meaningful rituals will raise your hair consciousness and bring it to its most natural and beautiful state.

Innersense had reached out to have founder Joanne Starkman tailor a hair ceremony for me, which I was more than thankful for since I personally find the website a little overwhelming with categories like Hair Truth, Hair Intention and Hair Ceremonies.
The skeptic in me initially dismissed the language as hocus-pocus to market their products to unsuspecting hippies, but I was quickly converted when I started using the Innersense Enliven Hair Ceremonyfor myself and saw an immediate change in the way my hair felt and looked. Coming from someone who hated shampoo days, I think it says a lot.
A family-owned certified Green Company committed to transparency and sustainability, Innersense uses only the finest wild-harvested, biodynamic, and certified organic ingredients, and this is evident in the product performance. With the exception of a few of their styling products, most of the line ranks an impressive zero on the ThinkDirty app. You really can't get any cleaner than that!
Innersense Organic Beauty Pure Harmony Shampoo ($24.00 for 8.5 oz) and
Pure Inspiration Daily Conditioner
($26.00 for 8.5 oz)
In the summer months I wash my hair every other day, and I have been testing the Innersense Pure duo which leaves my hair feeling amazingly clean and healthy. The Pure Harmony Shampoo is suitable for all hair types, and the Orange Flower oil gives it a delicate citrus scent that is both uplifting and relaxing. The coconut and palm oils purify and cleanse the scalp and hair, while the pumpkin seed oil and cranberry seed oil increase circulation and moisturizes and protects the scalp and hair respectively. The shampoo has a gel-like consistency that works up to a nice lather, although not as much as your conventional shampoo since it does not contain any sulfates.
After rinsing out the shampoo I follow up with the Pure Inspiration Daily Conditioner, which is lightweight enough for me to apply from the roots to the end and leave on for a couple of minutes. Key ingredients include Rice and Soy Proteins which repairs and protects, Shea Butter which softens and hydrates and Oat Kernel Extract which moisturizes and strengthens by improving elasticity. The result is soft, natural-looking hair with a good amount of bounce.

Innersense Organic Beauty Sweet Spirit Leave In Conditioner ($22.00 for 8.5 oz) and
I Create Finish Finishing Spray
($22.00 for 8.5 oz)
This Sweet Spirit Leave In Conditioner works well for heat protection when I blow-dry my hair after washing and conditioning and leaves it incredibly silky soft and shiny, thanks to nourishing ingredients like tamanu oil, rosemary oil, honey, lavender and oregano. You can also spray the product on dry hair for refreshing or restyling, but I do think you can skip this product or only use this on the ends if you have an oilier scalp. (I personally prefer using Captain Blankenship Golden Waves on my second-day hair as it weighs my hair down less.) It is also supposed to work magic on curly hair as a detangler, and will allow you to comb through your hair more easily.
I love, love, love the  I Create Finish Finishing Spray, which provides a surprising hold for my hair. I never bothered with hairsprays before this but I am really enjoying using this to set my freshly-styled hair. It dispense like a fine mist, but the organic honey in the formula acts as a natural resin and the rice amino acids condition the scalp and hair and impacts a lovely shine. I find it works best when sprayed from a distance to let it fall gently onto my hair.
Ingredients for Sweet Spirit Leave In Conditioner: Purified Water, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Gel**, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Glycerin, Soy Amino Acids *, Polysorbate 20, Hydrolyzed Rice Proteins*, Nelumbiaum Speciosum (Lotus) Flower Oil**, Calophyllum Tacamahaca Seed Oil, Rosmarinum Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract ***, Agropyron (Wheatgrass) Extract ***, Honey Extract ***, Cinnamomum Zelyanicum Bark Extract **, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Extract **, Lavandula Angustofolia (Lavender) Flower Extract**, Hydrastis Canadensis (Golden Seal) Root Extract**, Thymus Valgris (Thyme) Extract**, Nelumbium Specoisum (Lotus) Flower Extract**, Plumeria Alba Flower Extract, Aspalathus Linearis Extract **, Cymbopogon Schoenanthus Extract ***, Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cranberry) Seed Oil**, Echinacea Angustifolio Extract **, Origanum Vulgare Leaf Extract **, Gluconolacation Sodium Benzoate and Parfum of Natural Oils.

The Inner Peace Whipped Creme Texturizer is a lightweight styling creme that will create hold and texture for your hair, with a a thick, sticky consistency that reminds me of my husband's hair pomade. I like to warm a tiny amount in my palms and scrunch it into the ends of my dry hair, and the Shea Butter and Fruit Oils whipped with Wheat Protein will condition and strengthen your hair tips. It is great to fight frizz and fly aways from your hair, and a little will go a long way. Suzi from Gurl Gone Green recommends using this on wet hair before blow-drying for a messy tousled look.
Ingredients:  Aqua- EAU, Beeswax*, Cetearyl Alcohol, Guar Gum*, Xanthan Gum, Cetyl Alcohol, Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Oil*, Cucurbita Pepo (Pumpkin) Seed Oil*, Euterpe Oleracea (Acai) Fruit Oil*, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Fruit*, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter*, Citrus Sinensis (Sweet Orange) Oil, Citrus Tangerina (Tangerine) Oil, Glycerin, Cyclopentasiloxane, Hydrolyzed Silk Protein, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe) Leaf Juice*, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract*, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Extract*, Honey Extract*, Aspalathus Linearis Extract*, Ginkgo Beloba Leaf Extract, Tocopherol*, Citric Acid, Gluconolactone and Sodium Benzoate

  1. I've never tried this line but I'm entirely curious to do so now that I've seen your rave review! I can trust your opinion, and honestly, when I first hear words such as ceremonies and rituals, I feel the same way that you feel. If you've actually changed your mind about it after using the products, then I'm pretty much sold to at least try them out!

  3. Innersense Organic Beauty products are indeed good. I've been using this brand and getting good benefits. My hair fall was high before applying Innersense shampoo and daily conditioner to my hair. Now my hair fall significantly reduced after using it for 3 months. Great product line up, but you've to consistently use it for better result.
