Celebrating Moroccan Beauty
With OrgaMor (And A Giveaway!)

If you can't go to Morocco, let Morocco come to you- in the form of luxury skincare line OrgaMor, a clever amalgamation of the words 'organic' and 'Morocco' that reflects the ethos and background of the company.
It all started when engineer-turned-entrepreneur Sarah El Mouraouah was on a pursuit of healthy living and seeking inspiration from traditional Moroccan recipes. A casual conversation with her father-in-law led her to a small store in the heart of Casablanca that sold a private brand of argan oil regarded by many to be the purest in Morocco.

She discovered that the oil was developed by scientist Zakaria Ouissafane, an old friend of her father-in-law. While his name may be unfamiliar to most of us, he can be credited as the first person who started using the cold-pressed extraction method to extract argan oil on a large scale. Not all argan oil is created equal, and what sets Zakaria's apart as the world's best comes from employing highly-skilled Berber women to harvest, dry and remove the pulp in the traditional ways and then processing the quality kernels with his highly-controlled method of extraction.

Impressed by Zakaria's passion and unwavering integrity, Sarah decided to partner with him to develop skincare products using his brand of premium argan oil, so that everyone can experience for themselves the transformative benefits of using the highest grade of argan oil grown in his native village of Golden Tree.

Sarah connected with me on Instagram a while back and we became fast friends chatting about all things beauty and her status as a new mother. She offered to send me some of her newly-launched products, and after a month of testing I am happy to give Orgamor two thumbs up!

OrgAmor Forever Young Serum ($89.00 for 25 ml / 0.8 oz)
The OrgAmor Forever Young Serum is a powerhouse blend with two star ingredients - Zakaria's premium argan oil and prickly pear seed oil. This unique blend also contains wild-harvested sesame oil and has both antioxidants and unsaturated fatty acids working together to moisturize and revitalize the skin, with the oregano and neroli essential oils providing anti-inflammatory and antibacterial benefits to help with scarring.
Although the website recommends that you massage two pumps of the serum into your face and neck, one pump is more than enough for me, and as with all my other facial oils I find that misting my face liberally before and after application allows the oil to be better absorbed into the skin. The slightly medicinal scent of the serum comes from the blend of oregano and neroli, and while it does not bother me, Sarah has said that she is looking into reformulating for a less intense smell.
I was using this for two weeks straight before my vacation but my skin was in tip-top shape and it was hard for me to discern any difference, so I put it aside after I decided that the oil would be too heavy for the tropical humidity. However, I returned from my trip with a tired and lacklustre complexion, no thanks to the accumulation of over 50 hours of air travel within a short period, and I decided to reach for my Forever Young serum once I had cleansed and exfoliated my skin. I was amazed by the immediate effect it had on my complexion- my skin was glowing and radiant again in no time. Since then I have been religiously massaging the serum to my face every night, and even had the confidence to run errands sans makeup today!
Ingredients: Argania Spinosa (Argan) kernel oil*, Opuntia ficus Indica Pear (Prickly Pear) seed oil*, Sesamum indicum (sesame) oil, Origanum compactum (oregano) essential oil* and Citrus aurantium var. amara (neroli) essential oil*
* Certified Organic

Rhassoul clay is packed with minerals and has been used by generations of Moroccan women to treat their skin, and Sarah shared that they source the clay from a renowned supplier in the Moroccan market. The formula also includes orange flower water which gives it a lovely fresh scent, and Zakaria's signature argan oil.
The ingredients are whipped together into an airy mousse, but don't be thrown off by the light consistency of the mask because this stuff is potent! All you need is a thin layer on and you will quickly begin to feel the clay tightening on your face and neck. The suggested time is ten minutes, but I usually have it on until it is completely dry and starts to feel a little uncomfortable.
Let me just come right out and say I am obsessed with this mask. I love how it draws out the impurities on my face and leave it feeling super clean and radiant, and it does not dry out my face like some other clay masks can, and I follow this up with the Forever Young Serum. Although I have a dozen different masks (#beautybloggerproblems), I find myself reaching for this again and again and I know that when I hit the bottom I will reorder this tub of magic.
Ingredients: Hectorite (Rhassoul Clay), Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (orange) Flower Water and Argania Spinosa (Argan) kernel oil*
* Certified Organic

P/S: In case you are wondering, the braided fabric that sheaths the products is handcrafted by Moroccan artisans using what is called the 'sfifa'. I like that it lends an exotic flair to my beauty cabinet!
