Travel the World With Pearlesque Box

If you are like me, you may have a box or two full of sample-sized products that you accumulate and forget about until you do a spring clean. My hesitation with a lot of subscription boxes flooding the market these days is that they send you a bunch of products from random brands that are fun to receive each month but serve no real purpose for your skincare regime.

As a diligent green beauty blogger, small samples are difficult for me to form an accurate opinion of, and I much prefer travel or full-sized products that will allow me to experience the products over a few weeks. With that said, I have been really selective about the subscription boxes I sign up with, and while it doesn't happen often, I immediately fell in love when I discovered Pearlesque Box.

What sets Pearlesque Box apart from other subscription boxes is that it focuses on one natural beauty brand from a selected region of the world each month. That's right, you can travel the world from the comfort of your own home and experience green beauty products from exotic locations like Bali, Indonesia and Umbria, Italy! For an avid traveller like me, it is perhaps the cleverest subscription box idea I have ever come across yet.
Pearlesque Box is the brainchild of founder Rochelle Langere, who as a lifelong sufferer of Psoriasis was unable to use a lot of the conventional beauty products sold in America and through her kitchen experiments and extensive travels discovered the universe of natural beauty. Researching the beauty habits and secrets of women all around the world, she curates the best of her findings through Pearlesque Box and personally reviews the products in each box to ensure their quality and performance.
The subscription box costs $39.95 a month (including free shipping within the US), for which you receive a minimum of 1-2 full-sized and 1-3 travel-sized products with a combined value of $75-$120- that's more than half off the retail price! There is also the option of sending past boxes as one-off gift boxes, which I think is the perfect idea for someone whom you would like to introduce green beauty to.

Rochelle was kind enough to send me a box for review and I received March's box featuring Skin Essence Organics from Ontario, Canada, with three full-sized products worth over $80.

Skin Essence Organics is an all-natural and organic skincare line derived solely from plant, fruit and flower extracts, essential oils and minerals, and contains no chemicals, fillers and preservatives. Helmed by a renowned herbalist and holistic esthetician with over 20 years of experience, they use only fair-trade ingredients of the purest and highest quality, thoughtfully formulated to reap the most beneficial results. Their products are also housed in non-toxic amber glass and shipped in recycled and biodegradable materials.

Fresh Facial Cleanser ($26.99 for 4 oz)

Described as a "concentrated and highly nutritional facial cleanser" that effectively cleanses the skin of dirt and makeup without drying it out, I was struck by how very fresh and potent the Fresh Facial Cleanser smelled, with the earthy notes of lemongrass coming through most strongly for me.

To be honest I don't prefer to use this as a makeup remover (I am still a devotee to oil cleansing) but the invigorating citrus scent is perfect as a perk-me-up for the mornings. What I also like is that this product has a strong unisex appeal, so I have no problem convincing my husband to use this!

Ingredients: Vegetable Glycerin*, Saponified Oils of Coconut*, Sunflower*, and Castor*, Arrowroot Powder*, Witch Hazel Extract*, Coconut oil*, Lemongrass Oil*, Coriander seed Oil*, Rosemary Leaf Extract*, Peppermint Oil*, Citric Acid, Xanthan Gum
* Certified Organic

Nourish Facial Moisturizer ($31.99 for 1 oz)

Although I would describe this product more as a serum, the Nourish Facial Moisturizer contains an abundance of rosehip oil and neroli, both of which are excellent at stimulating and rejuvenating skin cells. The nutrient-rich formula also nourishes and tones the skin, and it leaves my face feeling nicely hydrated and glowing.

It is recommended that you massage the product for 15-20 seconds to ensure that it is evenly and properly absorbed into your skin, and also works well under makeup. This product is a necessary step in my routine on days my skin is feeling the effects of the dry winter.

Ingredients: Jojoba Seed Oil*, Rosehip Seed Oil*, Macadamia Nut Oil*, Apricot Kernel Oil*, Orange Oil*, Kukui Nut Oil, Neroli Flower Oil*, Tocopherol (Vitamin-E)*, Jasmine Oil*, Evening Primrose Oil*, Zinc Oxide (Non-Nano)
* Certified Organic

Occular Eye Serum ($22.99 for 10 ml)

My favorite product in the line-up is the Occular Eye Serum, targetted at improving dark circles, reducing puffiness and smoothing out fine lines. The formula is ultra-nourishing and you only need a tiny drop for each eye, and it is quickly absorbed into the skin and has an immediate plumping effect. For an eye product, the price point is also extremely affordable.

My only complaint is that it comes in a dropper bottle which I find rather bothersome (I always end up with too little or too much) and I may just transfer it to a roll-on bottle for easier application.

Ingredients: Rosehip Seed Oil*, Jojoba Seed Oil*, Hemp Seed Oil*, Borage Seed Oil*, Apricot Kernel Oil*, Nettle Leaf Extract*, Olive Oil*, Kukui Nut Oil, Blue Chamomile Oil*, Tocopherol (Vitamin-E), Zinc Oxide (Non-Nano)
* Certified Organic

P/S: If you would like to repurchase any of the products in the beauty box, Rochelle has included a link to each brand's website, although she has told me that a dedicated store to shop Pearlesque-approved products is in the pipeline. An online boutique dedicated to the best green beauty brands from all over the globe? I am so in!

And just to tease you a little, Rochelle has hinted that upcoming months include U.K. and Greece, and I am definitely waiting with bated breath for what's next!

You may want to hurry because the number of boxes are limited this month and the deadline to order this is on Saturday March 5th. Happy shopping ladies, and there's a special discount code if you keep scrolling!
