Nuvalash Wonderlash
(And A Triple Giveway!)

In the name of beauty, I have tried them all.

I have had "natural" eyelash extensions that resulted in my eyes stinging every time they came into contact with water, and some mornings having to painfully pry open my eyes because the adhesive had melted and glued my lids shut. I have also bought dozens of false lashes and practised in front of the mirror for hours putting them on, only to have them unravel and droop awkwardly when I am out in public.
When I met my husband, his impossibly long Italian eyelashes made me resigned to my sparse Asian ones. And so I gave up, relying instead on various drugstore mascaras to give me some semblance of eyelashes.

When I began switching to natural and organic makeup, my eye makeup was the hardest to transition because it had taken me so long to perfect my look that I really did not want to start from square one. The few green mascaras I tried were unable to help me attain the length or volume that I wanted.
But then Nuvalash Lash Serum came onto the scene and my friend Suzie of GurlGoneGreen posted a review with some compelling before and after photos. Still, I was reluctant to fork out that much money for a new product, but my sweet friend Alicia surprised me with a tube last Christmas.
NuvaLash Lash Serum ($120.00)
NuvaLash is an eyelash enhancing serum created by Lauren Bilon, who lost almost all of her eyelashes after the birth of her first child. She ended up with pharmaceutical and cosmetic products that brought about more harm than good, and in her desperate search for a safer solution, she threw herself into extensive research and experimentation.
After months of clinical testing and observation, she came up with a  list of natural and potent ingredients that produced significant results and NuvaLash was born in late 2014. Described as a "botanical super-juice for the hair follicles of your lashes and brows", NuvaLash contains a propriety formula that works to improve the health and hydration of your hair follicles and their longevity as well.
The ingredient list is very clean, all of them (including the emulsifiers and stabilizers) being plant-derived and scoring an impressive overall 0 rating on Think Dirty. Think organic aloe vera, organic castor oil, vitamin E, honey extract and a host of botanical extracts, and you can read about the science behind the ingredients here.
Ingredients: Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Organic Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Tussilago Farfara (Coltsfoot) Flower Extract, Achillea Millefolium (Yarrow) Extract, Cinchona Succirubra Bark Extract, Water, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Glycerin, Honey Extract, Prunus Amygdalus (Sweet Almond) Oil, Sucrose Laurate, Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate, Nasturtium Officinale (Watercress) Extract, Tropaeolium Majus (Indian Cress) Extract, Xanthan Gum, Coleus Forskohlii Root Oil, Carya Ovata (Hickory) Bark Extract.
The application is easy- I use the applicator brush to apply the product directly to my lash line the way I would with liquid eyeliner. It goes on as a creamy liquid so I can tell where I am applying it to, and quickly turns clear when dried. I have not experienced any irritation or discomfort with the product, although I would add that I do wake up with a little residual gunk in my eyes some mornings.
NuvaLash recommends that you use the product consistently for over 3-4 months to see results, but I was able to see a difference within 2 weeks of usage. It has been a month since I started using Nuvalash, and although I will never have my husband's luscious lashes, mine have definitely grown longer, and the lashes on my lower lids have also grown more visible.
So if you see me fluttering my eyelashes at you, you know why. Nuvalash has become a necessary step in my nightly routine, and I am so happy to kiss the extensions and false lashes goodbye!

Great news- you can also win one of three tubes (that's right- I'm giving THREE away) of Nuvalash Lash Serum by hopping onto my Instagram account. Good luck beauties! You can also use the code NIHAO to get 30% off your order.
